therapy
In my experience, art therapy (therapy) varies for everyone. Art therapy interventions and approaches are unique to each clinician, client and therapeutic relationship. My style is based in a more relational, organic and "art as therapy" approach. The clinical framework that I incorporate is but not limited to: free play, archetypes, dream work, symbols, energy awareness, intuition, active imagination and reflective functioning. I believe change and development occur through trust, patience and natural connection.
I have experience working in a variety of mental health settings with a diverse range of clientele. I utilize a client-centered approach, as well as a holistic and trauma-informed treatment model. Sessions may include verbal-psychotherapy, movement/mindfulness suggestions, as well as art making for coping and/or processing feelings and emotions that may be difficult to verbalize. I strive to respectfully guide and support healing goals and create individual treatment plans in collaboration with my clients.
