about
Greetings and thank you for visiting my website!
--
My name is Michelle and I am a New York State licensed and national board-certified creative arts therapist. I am originally from the Boston area, but have lived in New Jersey for the past eight years. The beach and woods will always be in my blood, but the city pulls on my heart strings. I have been quietly creating and playing since I was very small, always finding my voice through nature and art. I worked, traveled and rebelled a bit in my early years; leading me to the therapeutic art world and a more authentic place today.
--
Finishing my Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Photography at Bridgewater State University in 2012, I then wrapped up an 11 year professional photography career in a well loved family owned studio in 2014. In 2016, I completed my Masters of Professional Studies Degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. Throughout my education, I studied and trained in New York City, throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and in London.
--
Currently, I am working non-profit as a clinician within a day treatment facility, for those with psychiatric and developmental disabilities. I work with students ages 5-21 to support their social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. I am also a pending candidate for the LPAT (Licensed Professional Art Therapist) in the state of New Jersey.
